Over the last 40 years, Taiwan has successfully morphed into a major player in the global Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry. Having oscillated among the business models of OEM, ODM and OBM, Taiwan’s ICT companies have eventually found their footing in their ecosystem, as an astute and effective maestro for providing high-quality customer-driven design/manufacturing service, in domains ranging from semiconductor fabrication and electronic system integration to IC design outsourcing. In this talk, I will go over the unique edges and characteristics of these service offerings, and describe how they reflect the style and  sustain the competitiveness of the Taiwanese companies behind them.

Dr. Chiueh joined Delta in 2021 and currently leads the Delta Research Center in developing advanced technologies and product-grade application services and solutions in the areas of smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence, information security protection, wireless communication sensing, energy storage management software, unmanned vehicles, and life sciences.

Dr. Chiueh graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Taiwan University, and received a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He specializes in large-scale system software, information and communication security technologies, and computer and network system architectures. Dr. Chiueh has published more than 220 seminar and journal papers. He has also received several best paper awards from internationally recognized institutions, including the U.S. National Science Foundation Career Award, the 2013 TECO Award, the 2016 IEEE Test of Time Paper Award, the 2017 Pan Wen Yuan Outstanding Research Award, and the 2019 Medal of the Year from the Chinese Institute of Engineers.
