New Course! "Regional Cooperation & Organizations"

*Time: every Saturday 1PM-4PM (flexible)

*Instructors: Dr. Chong-Han Wu (NCCU), Dr. In Tae Yoo (Chonbuk National University, South Korea) and Dr. Edgar Yuen (Programme of Media and Communication Studies, Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College)

Target Students: undergraduate or graduate students, including both local and international students

Course Objectives:

The course is designed for the discussion of a range of contemporary issues in the globalization and cooperation of modern society, including the socio-economic development patterns and positions of selected organizations. While introducing students to theoretical and empirical material on international cooperation and current integration thus having a bibliographic function, the course will provide an opportunity to design and do research in this area. The course will shape some lights on the studies of international organizations, international regimes, norms, and regulations. Students are expected to develop a sufficient understanding of this subfield to prepare for further study and specialization, and are able to identify the broad theoretical approaches to the study of different international and regional economic integration, including the creation of RCEP and CPTPP. This course also aims to study the dramatic economic growth of mainland China with specific focus on their several critical economic framework, such as the discussion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Great Bay Area.

In addition, it’s our great honour to invite scholars overseas to have some academic sharing during the semester. Accommodation to the schedule of foreign scholars is required during the semester.
